Well, Ladies and Gents the New Year is upon us! I technically started MY New Year in October, but I plan on singing Auld Lang Syne with everyone else, if I'm still awake that is. LOL! So I have been making progress with my goals, yea me! I am scheduled to attend a PMP prep course in February and I have edited some patterns to narrow down my selections. I have also taken more recent measurements of myself, which bring me to Goal Number Three.
Goal Number Three: Lose inches! Probably 99.9% of the earths populations goal is to lose weight. I have been pretty content with my extra fluff until I re-measured myself for Goal Number Two. As a Project Manager I know a goal must be measurable, which means I have to put a number to my 3rd goal. This is going to be challenging, because we all know as you age your body starts taking on a mind of its own and doesn't pay attention to history. Hmmm......lets see....okay. I like the June 30, 2010 deadline and I'll say overall loss of 9 inches, which could equal approximately 30 pounds. Hmm....I'll keep you posted.

GOAL NUMBER ONE & TWO
My first goal is career related. I work as a Project Manager in the pharmaceutical industry. I have been doing some bench marking to determine what certifications I can add to my experience and college degrees that would make me more marketable in this cut throat job market. I have determined that a certification in Project Management from PMI Institute would do it! My goal is to accomplish this by June 2010. I have made this a six month goal due to the application requirements and the challenge to study while living my life. I have a habit of overbooking my days and just juggling too much at once...and then wonder why I am soooo sleepy! LOL!
My second goal is to sew more for myself. I know, I know...I have said this before, but as I stated previously I tend to do too much in one day. So to accomplish this goal, I need two outfits by June 2010. One outfit will be a royal blue jacket, pant; and skirt and the other outfit will be a white jacket and dress. The white dress I was dreaming about in March still needs to get done. It has reached a critical levels since as a women I NEED some new pieces in my wardrobe! Clock starts now!

Happy Holidays!
Yes! Happy Holidays! How did that happen you wonder? I was wondering the same thing....LOL!! Forty-two days until Christmas....whew! I have decided that I am not going to wait until New Year's to set my goals. I have decided to begin my New Year now. Yes! Right now! I have always been the unconventional type and have been fortunate to have most of my goals realized. You ask, "What are your goals?" I will be posting five goals over the next few weeks with due dates (that's the Project manager in me ;-D) so you can see me succeed or readjust (because I don't beleive in falure) throughout the next 356 days...so here we go...I say Happy Holidays to another New Year!

Ode to Summer 2009
Well! Where has the summer gone! I have been soooo busy! Picnics here, conferences there.....and No! I didn't make that white dress. LOL! Based on the slow economy in my personal economy, looks like I am going to be forced to sew myself some basic staples to add to my warddrobe. What's exciting is the fact that I have lost some weight so I think this experience is going to be very rewarding. Haven't decided what I am going to make first, but it will definitely be a suit. I will keep you posted!

I'm Dreaming of a White......Dress?
I have never been a huge fan of white. Even my wedding dress wasn't white. Well not for the obvious reasons, but a white dress or outfit just never had me think, "Oooo! I have to that white dress!" Or "....that white pants suit is hot!" What bothers me about a white outfit or dress, other than a wedding dress, is that I think of a work outfit or church nurse's uniform. Despite me not really liking white, and uninterupted white outfit or dress is the required attire for a luncheon March 28th that I plan to attend.
I haven't sewn in about a year, and I am a little rusty, so I figured I try to find a dress pattern, something like a simple chemise. A dress that is elegant, but not too overstated for a luncheon. You ladies know exactly what I am describing don't you? Well it has been easier said than done. Here is my inspiration....

I have looked through a few websites for something simple, but the first pass has provided any attention catchers. I am going to try again, but I need to act fast. I am also planning my daughter 6th birthday party, which is the day after the luncheon. Oh, I just love a challenge!

A New Beginning
A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water."
-- Eleanor Roosevelt
Who knew I would ever quote Eleanor Roosevelt, but I feel these words are most fitting to all that has happened in my life over the last six months. I never knew I was this strong! But I find comfort knowing there is a plan and I don't have to do this alone.
